Advice on how to deal with a break up against our will? Very difficult to deal with :(?

He is 17 and I am 18. We were friends for a little over two months. During then we did alot of flirting and we both knew the other liked us alot. We get along incredibly well, i can tell him anything, he respects and cares about me, everything just clicks with us. He finally asked me out a little over a month and a half ago. We dated the entire time. And again we shared some great moments, i couldn't think of a better guy to spend my time with. We obviously have made out, we do show our affection by hugging, playing fighting, caressing each other. Healthy stuff and our relationship was very healthy and i was excited to see where it would go. But he enlisted in the marines and the job he chose (presidential guard) does not allow any dating until after bootcamp, which is in a year. So this news has been sprung on us and im having trouble dealing with it. We are still allowed to be friends and i do want to remain friends with him and so does he. It sucks too because now when i see him he is always gloomy/distant and nothing i do can get him to be himself again. So if anyone had any advice on how to deal with a forced break up like this and help the both of us deal with it i would truly appreciate it. Thank you.Advice on how to deal with a break up against our will? Very difficult to deal with :(?
If you care for each other as much as you say, nothing can stop the way you feel about each other and if you can go a year apart, you will know you were meant to be. Its hard, i have a guy friend that joined the marines last year and it was absolutely crazy to go a year with out that much communication, but in the end when it was done, we talk all the time on the phone and he was transfered close to home so we get to see each other occasionally. But you have to be strong and know he is doing something good for himself and its not something to punish you. Stand by his side no matter what and that will show him how much you care. Its not going to be easy but if you truly care you can do it!
